Meet Janet

Janet Maendel is a Functional Medicine Practitioner and Manual Osteopathic Therapist, who is trained in the Metabolic Approach to Cancer.

The Metabolic Approach to Cancer is a holistic integrative approach that assesses all elements that can contribute to the growth and progression of cancer. This approach can be used as a preventative measure, during conventional cancer treatments, and, following treatments of chemotherapy, radiation or surgery.

Janet is a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner (CFMP) through the Functional Medicine University and a Certified Integrative Functional Medicine Practitioner (I.F.M.P.) with New Eden School of Natural Health and Herbal Studies. Functional Medicine is a model of practice that focuses on finding the root cause of illnesses and deficiencies.

She has a diploma and doctoral degree in Manual Osteopathy. This includes holistic manual therapies that are used to treat various musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. Manual osteopathy is comprised of various modalities like joint mobilization, muscle energy techniques and myofascial release therapy. Janet is also a Certified Professional Laser Therapist and offers low level laser therapy in her clinic.

Janet studied at Brandon University, Manitoba. She has a Diploma in Herbal Medicine (MH) and is Internationally Registered as a Herbalist. Janet is Board Certified as a Consultant of Herbal Medicine through The American Council of Holistic Medicine.
